1 YEAR OLD!

Dear Wyatt,

Happy Birthday Peanut!!!! Today is your very first birthday!

At one year, you weigh around 21 lbs 12 oz. My 9 pounder is growing up!
This past month you have grown and changed so much! The day before you were 11 months you began walking! You are a little parrot and have learned to say so many funny things…including your name which melts my heart every time you say it. “Wy-att”. Your newest is saying “uh-oh!” cause that’s what mommy says over and over when you fall down as you perfect walking :)

When you hear anyone outside you think it’s your “Da-da” and race to the door – and when he finally walks through the door, your face lights up with such joy! I love how you love each other!

You have been the most amazing sleeper starting to sleep through the night at 6 weeks and you're still going strong! Thank you for that gift :)

You are so smart! You have gone from us teaching you “So Big!” and “Peek-a-boo” to learning things by yourself simply by watching us. You mimic us talking on our phones, and how mommy combs her hair. You know that the keys open the door, your cup goes in the cup holder spot on your tray and mommy’s sunglasses go on her face. You are so aware of the world around you. Just last night your friend Jacob dropped his pacifier and you picked it up and put it back in his mouth!

You are currently the pickiest eater alive! You stick out your tongue or spit out anything unfamiliar. You have 11 teeth!! Let’s use em!

Currently your favorite thing to do with a book is close it - we’ll work on that one in the coming year. You love bath time and for several months now you stand the entire time – its rather nerve racking.

I love the way you say "Mama" when you're hungry, tired, sick, upset, got scared or just all-around over whatever it is you’re doing, as if that one word, that one person -- me -- is all you need to feel better. You say “Dada” all the rest of the time…and that’s ok with me :)

I love when you follow me around the house, and those open mouth kisses I beg for daily! You're fiercely independent, and you much prefer to do what you want to do, and only when you want to do it. Everything you do, you do without fear of the consequences. You fall and get right back up again. We never know if each time you fall if it’s going to be one that really hurt or just a bump in the road to you.

Your dimples just melt my heart! I prayed so hard that you would have your daddy’s dimples. Thank you God!

My favorite time of the day is bedtime. Because it’s the only time you stop moving and let me hold you...and currently you will only let ME hold you and rock you to sleep. You nuzzle your head into me…I sing, we read books and you hook your fingers around my tank top strap and hold on. When daddy comes to get you and put you in your crib, I just want to hold you for a few more minutes because I know in the morning you’ll be off and running again.

And so big boy, you are 1!!! This past year has been the best of my life. We have such a special bond and I love waking up to your sweet face every morning. Mama and daddy have grown too; We are much better people because you are in our lives.

One year ago today I was holding you in my arms for the first time and my life has never been the same since. You are the center of my world sweet baby boy and I will love you all the years of your life. Nothing will replace this first year, but I so look forward to watching the boy, teenager and man you will become.

I am so thankful to be your Mommy. I am truly blessed beyond words. God knew exactly what He was doing when He gave you to me. He knew that you were exactly what I needed. Grow up strong knowing that I will always be here for you. Let God direct your paths, and you'll really go far.

You’re the answer to all of my prayers, before I even prayed them.

I Love You Wy Wy,

Mama

7 months

Highlights:
A week before you turned 7months you were weighed at the pediatrician 17 lbs 1 oz and 27 ½ inches
Just after you turned 6 months we started you on solid foods; rice cereal, bananas, applesauce, sweet potatoes, squash, pears, green beans, peas, etc, etc, etc…
You hated solid food at first…would make nasty faces and even shivered in disgust sometimes. We were cracking up, it was cute :)
You have started to bite mommy while nursing since you got those 4 teeth last month. Not fun!
You got teeth 5 and 6 on April 22nd; the biting continues; sad!
We switched you into size 3 diapers even though you don’t really need to be, you are barely at the lowest weight mark of 16lbs, but it helps with “no blowouts’
You are wanting to crawl so bad! You look like you’re about to do it any second. Until then you roll all-over-the-place-all-the-time!
You learned how to splash in the tub
You have this new crazy high pitched squeal that you let out at random
You’re slowly transitioning into 6-12 months clothes
Still sleeping through the night :)
Sleep in your crib
You love falling asleep with something near your face, blankie, burpie, etc…
You are no longer swaddled, we stopped that shortly after you were six months and you also sleep in your crib now in your own room.
You try to pull yourself up to sitting up from a lying down position. If you have something on both sides to use you usually have success.
One of your favorite toys is a water bottle…who needs toys?
you started going to gymboree classes
first earthquake! a 7.2!
You are an absolute joy not only to mommy and daddy but anyone close enough to engage it that million dollar smile.

4 Months

We took you to the zoo for the first time! Mommy and daddy went to the zoo a couple of times a week while pregnant with you. It was good exercise for mommy sporting that big belly.
This month mommy had to go back to work. You spent the first 2 weeks of mommy’s return with Grandma Parker and 1 week with Daddy. After that you starting going to Katia’s house. She loves you to death and is always telling me what a good “Bebe” you are (that’s how she pronounces it with her accent).

A couple of highlights:
You like tummy time more and more
You rolled over to one side from your tummy to back
You laughed! It takes a lot of work from mommy and daddy to get you to do it though!
You can grab your feet and pull them to your mouth
Holding toys now, not just your burp rags

3 months

You had quite a busy month leading up to becoming 3 months old.
Time is Flying! Someone slow this Rollercoaster down! This past month has been filled with many adventures for someone only 2 months old.
We took our first trip away from home to stay at the Hyatt in Anaheim and go to Disneyland on Thanksgiving Day for Mommy’s 30th Birthday. It was a great day! We were able to take you on practically any ride that didn’t have a harness involved. You nursed during the Finding Nemo ride and slept through Pirates of the Caribbean and when it was time to go on the Haunted House you were passed out in your stroller so we left you with Grandma and Mommy and Daddy went alone. We took lots of pictures of your first Disney trip and can’t wait to take you back when you’re a little older.
The next day was Black Friday…you were out there fighting the crowds and shopping with mommy and all the other crazies out there. Again, you mostly slept and hung out in the Moby.
The next weekend we left for your first vacation and plane ride. One of Mommy’s friends (Auntie Reeses) was turning 30 also and so we went to see her in San Francisco. A lot of mommy and daddy’s friends were there too and you got some serious snuggling. You were so amazing on the plane. You slept on the take off both to and from SD and SF and fed on the decent both ways. No crying!! We got many compliments from people! Thank you for being amazing!
The next weekend we went to Big Bear with Grammy, Papa, Uncle Philip, Auntie Beth, Auntie Robyn, Uncle Shane and your cousins Halle, Landon and baby Chase still in his mama’s belly. I love family! Mommy and Daddy changed very few diapers, it’s a nice break from your little tush. You didn’t get to be outside very much because of the snow and cold. You hung out with mommy inside by the fire.

A couple highlights:
Your smiling is ridiculous! You are such a happy boy and smile at everyone you see
Getting so much better at tummy time
You jibber jabber a ton! I know you’re done eating when you stop and start jibber jabbering to me.
Started holding on to things. Mostly your burp cloths and other soft things, not toys so much
You absolutely love bath time with daddy
The drooling is crazy! Where does it all come from?
You’ve starting pulling off the baby wipe we place on you during diaper changes and put it in your mouth.
